The one-hour computer tutor sessions are now booked via Eventbrite. Please read the following and learn it so that you can help a customer if required.
I want to see when the next available slot is:
The ‘home page’ for the computer tutor bookings is at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/o/manly-library-tech-help-16911405943
Here you can see that there are 4 tutors (at the moment). If someone asks when the next session is available, go to the appropriate tutor depending on the day and then click on ‘select a date’. This will show you if there are any available sessions.
When you select a tutor you can see details of their specialisations e.g.
I want to book a customer in for a session:
If someone asks when the next session is available, go to the appropriate tutor depending on the day and then click on ‘select a date’.
This will clearly show you if there are any available sessions for that tutor.
To register for a session, click on the desired time and then click on the green register button
Customers do not need to log in to register for a session, but if you help them make a booking you will be prompted to enter an email address. If the customer doesn’t have one, enter the firstname.lastname@example.org email address. A phone number is required for all bookings however, as the Duke of Ed students will call the customers for the next day’s computer tutor sessions to make sure they’re still coming.
Please note: bookings now cannot be made 12 hours before the start of a session. This is so the computer tutor isn’t caught out by a last-minute booking. However, use your judgement – if there is a free slot in between two booked sessions, get in touch with the computer tutor and ask if it will be ok for that person to come to the session, and just tell the customer when and where to go if the computer tutor says it’s ok. You can find the phone numbers for the volunteer tutors on the volunteer database at: \\manly.nsw.gov.au\transfer\Library\Volunteers\Current Library\Volunteers Data Base.xlsx
Once you select the green checkout button you will have a form to complete the customer details:
